CLEARFIELD, Pa., Sept. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Corbett Administration today began its third installment of "DCED on the Road" visiting Forum Energy Technologies, a manufacturer and supplier for the natural gas industry that is experiencing growth due to Marcellus Shale development.

In 2011, Forum Energy Technologies purchased Allied Technology located in Clearfield County to focus on growth in the Marcellus Shale industry. The company invested in new equipment and site improvements at the 95,000-square-foot facility to manufacture and repair skid-mounted pressure vessels for the natural gas industry. Forum Energy Technologies employs more than 100 people in Clearfield County.
"DCED on the Road," is a series of events across northcentral Pennsylvania to discuss Governor Tom Corbett's plans for economic growth, job creation and community development.
Later today, Walker and DCED representatives will make several stops throughout the northcentral region including a visit to Clearfield's nationally-accredited Main Street program and a town hall meeting, hosted by DCED to discuss local government issues and community development initiatives.
"We are out of Harrisburg and in the field to gain first-hand knowledge of what obstacles businesses and communities are facing," Walker said. "The road trip will give us a chance to connect on the local level and determine where we can better allocate resources to support current needs."
Walker and DCED representatives are spending four days traveling throughout Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, Jefferson, McKean and Potter counties, visiting successful projects, and meeting with community, economic development and tourism partners.
The "DCED on the Road" initiative is being funded and supported by the Team Pennsylvania Foundation, a private non-profit partnership with the commonwealth.
