Getronics, the global ICT services provider, today announced the appointment of Mark Cook to the role of Group Chief Executive Officer.
Cook, who previously held the roles of UK Ireland CEO and Group Managing Director, will be charged with building on the organisation's strong workspace heritage as it continues to deliver custom IT tailored to resolving the specific business challenges of customers.
Cook brings over 30 years of IT experience to the role. He has been instrumental in expanding Getronics' portfolio to meet customer demand for smarter workspace solutions. Cook understands the changing needs of today's mobile and cloud enabled enterprises and has introduced new solutions to help them boost business agility and drive efficiency. These include unified communications, mobile applications, managed print services and cloud-enabled online services. He has also led Getronics through a series of strategic acquisitions, most recently, NEC Enterprise Solutions in four countries.
Mark Cook, CEO of Getronics, said: "Business behaviour is changing rapidly and with it so are the expectations of IT. Companies are demanding agile services such as cloud and unified communications, wanting reassurance that an IT expert is managing issues around security and compliance on their behalf. The success of the company has been built on our ability to adapt to these evolving conditions by creating an innovative portfolio that helps customers quickly address challenges through custom IT and business-centric consultancy."
In addition to organic growth and expanding its portfolio through acquisition, Getronics sees partner channels as a crucial success factor. Its partners include the recently announced NEC Unified Communications relationship and Samsung, alongside long-term tech partners Cisco, Dell and Microsoft. Their unique global Getronics Workspace Alliance (GWA) sees them partner with Service Providers across the globe to provide clients with a single point of contract and contact in over 90 countries.
