Alzheimer's Association Offers Free Program
CONCORD, N.H., Nov. 1, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Care to Cure, the caregiving and research conference of the Alzheimer's Association, MA/NH Chapter, this year features leading clinician, Dr. Juergen H. Bludau, as the keynote speaker. Open to individuals and families free of charge, the conference offers practical advice and information to those affected by Alzheimer's disease. The event will be held on Saturday, November 9, at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord and is open free of charge to the public.
Dr. Bludau's keynote address, "Research Updates and The Importance of Clinical Trials," will cover the latest information regarding Alzheimer's disease and research.
Born in Germany and educated in England, Dr. Bludau received his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and completed his postgraduate studies in the USA. He is a Harvard fellowship-trained geriatrician whose interests focus on the primary care of dementia patients, the development of improved in- and outpatient geriatric services, and the geriatric education of nurses.
As the Executive Medical Director of Geriatrics and Home Care of the Elliot Health System in southern New Hampshire, Dr. Bludau is also co-founder of Geriatricadvisor.org which provides personalized medical advice and knowledge online. He is also the author of, "Aging, But Never Old," a book on the realities, myths and misrepresentations of the anti-aging movement.
In addition to Dr. Bludau, conference speakers include Maura Moxley, Manager of the 24/7 Helpline at the Alzheimer's Association, MA/NH Chapter and Woody Sponaugle, men's caregiver group leader, presenting on "The Value and Importance of Support Groups."

Alzheimer's disease is a growing epidemic and is now the nation's sixth-leading cause of death.
