Global Summit on Negotiation & Trust makes a splash in the desert

PHOENIX, Nov. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Harvard-born Negotiation & Leadership Conference, traditionally held in Cambridge, MA ventured out of its nest for the first time, delivering every bit of the quality and brilliance it has become known for. With the desire of spreading the conference's message to the west coast, Thunderbird School of Global Management warmly extended their facility to host the inaugural event.

With a rich plethora of speakers ranging from foreign dignitaries, university luminaries, and top business leaders, there was no shortage of life enriching insight and ideals at this event in the desert.

The conference ran from November 7th and ended on November 10th. Chairman Andre Bisasor, the founder of the Negotiation and Leadership Conference, kicked off the event with a clarion call for "building a global platform for dialogue around negotiation, conflict resolution and trust". Bisasor also unveiled his ground-breaking "covenant-based negotiation" which focuses on the strategic deployment of trust while guarding against exploitation using covenant principles.

Speakers included Chris Voss, 24 year veteran of FBI negotiation department and current Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University. Voss delighted the gathering with his perfect mixture of humor, wit, and confidence; while stressing the importance of opening up and being honest, even if you're negotiating with an international criminal.

Hon. Professor Hlengiwe Mkhize, deputy minister of economic development for South Africa, moved the crowd with her eloquently delivered presentation sharing the challenges as well as methodology on arriving at and maintaining peace in and around South Africa.

SumZero founder and CEO as well as Facebook's brainchild, Divya Narendra, spoke about his experience on the other side of negotiation and trust and offered insight into the world of protecting yourself and your interests. Stephen M. R. Covey, co-founder and CEO of CoveyLink Worldwide and a leader and guru in the world of trust, stressed how important this five-letter word is and the expanse and power it actually possesses and Dr. Robert Cialdini, founder of Influence at Work and the "Godfather" of Influence, discussed the keys to building trust by using the principles of influence and persuasion.

The conference attracted participants from across the United States, the United Kingdom, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle-East, Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Additionally, the conference was open to youth who showed an interest in entrepreneurship, leadership, and global affairs. The young leaders had a once in a lifetime opportunity to receive advice from the successful pioneers they are working diligently to emulate.
