Clayton Homes is a Housing Leader for Energy Efficiency Practices

MARYVILLE, Tenn., Dec. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Clayton Homes recently participated in The Tennessee Valley Authority's (TVA's) ENERGY STAR® Manufactured Homes pilot program. The initiative was launched to encourage the manufactured housing industry to produce more energy-efficient homes and consumers to upgrade to ENERGY STAR® qualification. The pilot program received honorable mention by the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy.* By participating in this and other green practices, Clayton Homes has made a greater impact on conservation efforts and is delivering more affordable, energy-efficient homes to American families.

ENERGY STAR® qualified manufactured homes are designed and built to higher energy-saving standards when compared to the typical manufactured home, and include modern energy-efficient features that regular homes lack. A new home that has earned the ENERGY STAR® label has undergone a process of inspections, testing, and verification to meet strict requirements set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), delivering tighter construction, better comfort, and greater efficiency.

"We're making strides in our effort to deliver more energy-efficient manufactured homes," said Kevin Clayton, CEO of Clayton Homes. "One of our core values is to take care of the environment and communities we live in, and we're dedicated to delivering on that value."

By promoting company-wide green practices, Clayton Homes shares bulk purchasing discounts to make energy efficient homes available to consumers at a great value. The ENERGY STAR® upgrade available through Clayton Home includes features like more effective insulation, high-performance windows, tighter air ducts, and advanced heating and cooling systems. Choosing an energy-efficient home means choosing a more comfortable and quieter home, and investing in your future. To learn more, visit claytonhomes.com.
