MedicAlert Foundation Introduces New Credit Card To Save Money on Medical Costs - and to Save Lives

TURLOCK, Calif., Jan. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --MedicAlert Foundation, an international nonprofit organization, is launching a powerful new benefit for the Foundation's millions of members - one that will not only save them money, but will help to save lives as well.

The MedicAlert Platinum Advantage Rewards Credit Card becomes available Tuesday, January 14 - featuring a competitive interest rate, no annual fee, a generous rewards program (including double points for medical purchases) and low balance transfer options.

Even more important, every purchase charged to a MedicAlert credit card generates a donation from the credit card issuer to support the Foundation's charitable programs - which include providing free memberships and medical ID products to tens of thousands of less fortunate children and adults, providing free education to hundreds of thousands of first responders and providing MedicAlert's live 24/7 emergency response services to members during their times of need.

"We are excited to be offering this new credit card service not just to support our mission for those less fortunate, but also to help lessen the financial burden our members face with medical costs by providing double reward points for health-related purchases," says MedicAlert Foundation President & CEO Andrew Wigglesworth. "We hope our members will take advantage of this new benefit and remember the good they are doing for others each time they use it."

MedicAlert Foundation has provided more than 150,000 free memberships and MedicAlert medical IDs to less fortunate children and adults, has trained more than 250,000 first responders and has provided live emergency response services to hundreds of thousands of emergency calls, all supporting the Foundation's mission to protect and save lives.

MedicAlert Foundation members and customers can apply for the new MedicAlert Platinum Advantage Rewards Credit Card online at http://www.medicalert.org/creditcard, or by calling 1-855-450-6272.
