TOYOTA (dpa-AFX) - As per media reports, Toyota Motor Corp. (TYT.L, TM) has recalled more than six million vehicles worldwide. The recall involves 27 models. In an e-mail issued, the company said the recall is due to issues related to spiral cables, seat rails and engine starters.
The recall is said to involve 6.76 million vehicles, including brands Pontiac Vibe and Subaru Trezia. As some of the models are involved in prior recalls, total number of vehicles recalled is 6.39 million.
The stock of Toyota Motor Corp. is trading down 3.4 percent in Tokyo at 5,434.00 yen.
