PHOENIX, LOS ANGELES, and SALT LAKE CITY, February 13, 2014 - Fry's Foods, Food 4 Less (West), Ralphs and Smith's Food & Drug are asking customers to check their refrigerators and freezers for a limited selection of nine recalled Pre-Packaged, Frozen Kroger Ground Beef products with a "use by" date of no later than July 13, 2014.
Customers should return the product to stores for a full refund.
Rancho Feeding Corp., in cooperation with the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service, recently recalled ground beef that may have been manufactured under unsanitary conditions and without the benefit of full federal inspection. There have been no illnesses reported to date in connection with this product.
No other Kroger family of stores banner, including Food 4 Less stores in the Chicago area, is affected by this recall at this time.

What Fry's, Food 4 Less, Ralphs and Smith's are doing
Fry's, Food 4 Less, Ralphs and Smith's have initiated their customer recall notification systems, which alerts customers who may have purchased recalled Class 1 products through register receipt tape messages and phone calls. All affected ground beef products have been discarded from store shelves.
What customers should do
Customers are asked to carefully check their refrigerators and freezers for the recalled product. Any opened or unopened products included in this recall should not be consumed and should be returned to their local store for a full refund.
