Trek Bicycle President To Discuss The Environment, Economy, Employee Wellness And Global Health

CHICAGO, Feb. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --There are twice as many bicycles in the world than automobiles. With biking becoming a popular form of transportation, this timely discussion will address the positive impact bikes have on wellness. Whether commuting, delivering packages or for recreation, the bicycle has profound economic, environmental and health implications.

On February 26, John Burke will share how Trek is transforming the health and quality of life for employees through its exceptional wellness program. He will also discuss how Trek was able to garner a 99% participation rate in this wellness initiative among employees.

Son of Trek's Co-founder and Chairman, John Burke became President of the corporation in 1997. Burke began his career at Trek in 1984 packaging orders before moving up the ladder to sales and then eventually to a customer service position. Burke now heads the company. Outside of Trek, he is a founding member of the Bikes Belong Coalition and also served as chairman of President George W. Bush's President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.
