The Best Thing You Can Do In The 2014 Elections: Vote For Candidates Pledged To End Judicial Corruption

LOS ANGELES, April 1, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --Richard I. Fine, Ph.D., Chairman of the Campaign for Judicial Integrity (CFJI) stated: "This election year we will end judicial corruption. We ask every candidate for elected office to sign the CFJI Pledge to Eradicate Judicial Corruption. Candidates refusing to take the CFJI Pledge actually support judicial corruption. We only vote for, and elect candidates taking the CFJI Pledge. We are the 'swing vote' in 2014. After elected, we ensure they keep the CFJI Pledge."

See the introductory video onthe CFJIweb site: http://www.campaignforjudicialintegrity.org/#!vote-for-justice-videos/c6yn

Fine explained: "You and I lost any case in which a judge was paid by a party to the case, such as a county, or when the judge received part of the fines collected. We also lost any federal case in which the federal judge was a former state judge who received illegal payments or protected such judge."

Fine described judicial corruption: "90% of California's nearly 2,000 judges are legislated as 'criminals' with immunity from criminal prosecution. Since the mid 1980's, they were illegally paid approximately $400 million from counties appearing in cases before them. In 2009, California enacted the law 'SBX 2 11'. Section 5 of SBX 2 11 gave these judges and those who paid them, retroactive immunity from state criminal prosecution, civil liability and disciplinary action. These judges also violated federal criminal laws by taking the illegal payments and not declaring or paying taxes on all or part of this illegal income."

Fine continued: "Federal judges violated the U.S. Constitution and federal criminal law by protecting these judges in federal lawsuits."

Fine added: "In Pennsylvania, children were sent to private prisons by state judges who took money from the owners of the private prisons."

Fine concluded: "Our officials failed us. Throughout U.S. history, only 15 federal judges were impeached. In the last 15 years, only 2 state judges were impeached. In 2014, we will end judicial corruption and regain our constitutional rights. We 'Exercise Our Rights and Vote for Justice'."
