BALTIMORE, May 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --Christine Lagarde, managing director of the International Monetary Fund, is scheduled to speak with students at Laureate's Universite de Internationale Casablanca (UIC) in Morocco on May 9 about youth unemployment. Ms. Lagarde, a former finance minister of France, is the first woman to head the IMF.
Ms. Lagarde's visit coincides with the end of the semester, when UIC's graduates prepare to begin their careers. Laureate will broadcast the event live to its institutions throughout Europe.
"UIC has been a pioneer in so many ways in Morocco. It is a fitting tribute to the university to have someone as extraordinary and accomplished as Ms. Lagarde come to campus," said Douglas L. "We are looking forward to hearing her thoughts about the future of global development and how today's university students can have an impact on our world. At UIC, we are very proud of the positive influence that our students and graduates are already having in their communities, and we believe that with guidance and encouragement from our faculty and special guests like Ms. Lagarde, they will be inspired to reach great heights."
