VISUALS: | For the 70th consecutive year, Fred Jordan Mission will be honoring hundreds of impoverished moms with a delicious luncheon banquet and showering them with free personalized gift bags for them and their children. Dozens of volunteers will honor their own Moms who have passed by spending the day showering kindness and attention on these struggling Moms. While moms are enjoying a special day of pampering, their children will be treated to a day of fun and games - - as well as little gifts. Each mom will leave the Mission with fresh flowers and bulging gift bags. |

Hear from Willie Jordan, the only female President of an inner city Skid Row Mission in the nation, and the mother of seven children herself. Fred Jordan Mission is one of the only homeless Missions in the nation that have specialized in helping single poor Mothers and their children. Willie and her late husband, Fred Jordan brought their seven children to Skid Row from infancy, where they all helped serve the less fortunate before having their own holiday celebrations. Six of their children chose professions where they serve God by serving the poor. | |
See first-hand how the face of homelessness has changed, with women and children making up more than 40% of the homeless population nationwide and see and hear what it's like to be a mother or child on Skid Row and in the inner city, and share how your viewers, listeners and readers can help make a difference in the lives of impoverished families. | |
