3rd Annual 'MRM//McCann I Am' Contest Winner Announced

NEW YORK, June 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --MRM//McCann, a global customer experience-marketing agency, announced the winner of their third annual 'MRM//McCann I Am' "Cannes-test". Cody Barz, Assistant Account Executive at MRM//McCann Detroit, received the good news at an agency meeting in Detroit yesterday where CEO Michael McLaren surprised him with a video announcement.

Contestants submitted a series of up to ten posts on Instagram representing why they should be selected as the person who best embodies 'MRM//McCann I Am'. Entries were scored for passion, creativity, idea, presentation and content.

The top five finalists were awarded certificates, and acknowledged by the agency for their passion and energy for the brand. Additional finalists included:
- Christian Endecott, Junior Copywriter, MRM//McCann Frankfurt
- Gabriela Rudea, Account Supervisor, E/OU MRM Sao Paulo
- Jessica Petrelli Cicerone, Trainee of Creation, E/OU MRM Sao Paulo
- Justin Schlaffer, Junior Copywriter, MRM//McCann Princeton

Cody took first prize with flare-showing his creativity and "super-power" passion for MRM//McCann.

The global agency-wide contest was open to MRM//McCann full-time employees aged 28 and under (born after June 21, 1984, per Festival criteria for Young Lion status) - and someone who has never attended the festival. Cody's grand prize includes an all-expense paid trip to the2014 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

Round One judges included Hank Summy, President, MRM//McCann North America & Global Commerce; Debbie Smith, CEO, MRM Meteorite; Miho Shiozaki, President, MRM//McCann Tokyo; Antonio Pacheco, General Creative Director, MRM//McCann Spain; Eduardo Rodrigues, EVP/COO, E/OU MRM; and Sue Geramian, SVP, Global Brand Communications. The Grand Prize selection was ultimately chosen by MRM//McCann CEO, Michael McLaren.

As part of Cody's responsibilities for winning the contest, he will create an "MRM//McCann I Am" blog and post regularly about his adventure from beginning to end. Upon returning home, he will be writing a reflection on "What MRM//McCann Can Learn from Cannes Lions 2014".
