More than 37 million Americans rely on food banks for nutrition assistance. Milk is one of the most requested items by food bank clients and 95 percent of food banks report they don't receive enough milk to meet client demand. It is estimated that food bank clients receive less than one gallon of milk per person per year.
The Great American Milk Drive is all about filling this gap. Learn more about how milk companies are joining with Feeding America across the country-in every community-so hungry kids and families can have access to fresh milk.
Senators Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) will host the briefing on the Great American Milk Drive. The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) is helping to coordinate the briefing.
