Los Angeles Campus of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology to Host 34th Industrial Organizational & Organizational Behavioral (IOOB) Conference On July 18-19

LOS ANGELES, July 1, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The 34th Annual Industrial Organizational and Organizational Behavioral (IOOB) Conference: Shift Ahead, presented by students from the Los Angeles Campus of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP), will take place on Friday and Saturday, July 18 and 19, at TCSPP's downtown Los Angeles Campus (617 West 7th Street). Industrial Organizational and Organizational Behavioral Psychology is the scientific study of the workplace and will be the fastest growing occupation over the next decade. The field will grow by 53 percent between 2012 and 2022 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The Chicago School is a leading nonprofit graduate school devoted exclusively to psychology and related behavioral and health sciences.

Kicking off the IOOB Conference will be a networking mixer on Friday, July 18 (5:30 - 9:00 p.m.), at the Seven Bar Lounge in downtown Los Angeles (555 W. 7th Street; close to the Los Angeles Campus).

Jay Finkelman, Ph.D., TCSPP Department Chair and Professor of I-O and Business Psychology, will officially open the conference on Saturday, with an 8:30 a.m. keynote address and his presentation, The Psychologist Manager: Success Models for Psychologists in Executive Positions.

Immediately following Dr. Finkelman, featured speakers will include:

10:00 a.m. - Judith S. Blanton, Ph.D., of Blanton Consulting; and Louise Kelly, Ph.D., of Alliant International University in the expert panel discussion, People, Profit - Leveraging the Triple Bottom Line for Business Success, moderatedbyDr. Jay Finkelman.

11:15 a.m. - Theresa Lu, Ph.D., CEO and Founder, Lu & Associates, presents Lessons Learned Running a Consulting Practice.

1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. - Students from TCSPP, and other higher education institutions around the country will present on topics ranging from Unearthing the Competition and Integrating Project Management into Change Initiatives, to Exploring Relationships between Websites Personality, Person-Job Fit and Organizational Attractiveness.
