CYPRESS, Calif., July 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --Yamaha Generators will be the official power partner of the AirAsia-Caterham Moto Racing Team. Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A.'s power products division announced today it will provide EF2000iS generators to the motorcycle racing team, which is making its debut in the 2014 Moto2' World Championship this year.
Moto2 is one of three categories that make up the international 18-race MotoGP' championship. The AirAsia-Caterham Moto Racing Team features two talented riders, 2013 American Motorcyclist Association champion Josh Herrin and former Moto2 Rookie of Year Johann Zarco. Racing teams use generators to run tire warmers, as warm tires provide greater traction at the start of a race.

The 2014 season features races as far away as the Qatar, Japan and Australia, in addition to competitions in Indianapolis and Austin, Texas.

The Yamaha EF2000iS is a powerful, portable generator with a maximum output of 16.7 amps and fitted with a sophisticated muffler and sound reducing panels to reduce noise. For tasks that require extra output, a parallel function lets users connect two generators to deliver up to 30 maximum amps. The EF2000iS also has earned the longest emission engine durability ratings issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board.
