SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., July 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The following is a statement from Angel MedFlight:After issuing our press release "Flight Paramedic is True American Health Care Hero," we received several emails and phone calls questioning the veracity of Kyle W. Luginbyhl's story. We immediately began our own internal investigation. The searches conducted returned negative results for military service. (Verification of military service would not have been conducted in connection with his application for employment because military service was not a requirement for his position at the company nor was it listed on the application.) We then allowed Mr. Luginbyhl the opportunity to come forward with documentation to rebut the allegations made against him. He failed to meet our given deadline for providing the documentation.
Accordingly, Mr. Luginbyhl's employment with the company has been terminated and we will be withdrawing his award nomination. We are embarrassed and disappointed by his actions. We have always held the military and members of our armed forces in the highest regard and we continue to honor and respect their commitment and service to our country.
