WHAT: | Philanthropic Society Los Angeles (PSLA)-a support group of Children's Institute, Inc. (CII)--will host an event for approximately 5,000 Head Start - 12th graders from the Watts community where they'll receive backpacks, much-needed school supplies for the coming year, and more. This event is made possible thanks to major support from PSLA and hosted in partnership with CII. The young attendees live in one of Los Angeles's most underserved communities and receive support services from CII-a nationally recognized organization that helps children and youth severely affected by community and family violence, and other trauma. Philanthropic Society Los Angeles (PSLA) is a support group of Children's Institute, Inc., founded by CII Trustee Rochelle Gores Fredston.
