The P3 Mobile Benchmark UK will provide a regular impartial performance comparison of the UK mobile networks.
P3 communications, an international consulting, engineering and testing services company, announces the launch of an impartial regular mobile network benchmark in the UK. Based on leading edge testing methodology, with voice and data measurements, the benchmark is designed to analyze and objectively compare the performance of all UK mobile networks from the end user's perspective. It will focus on voice and data services on LTE-capable smartphones. For the first time, the testing will be conducted in October 2014 followed by the publication of the final report "P3 Mobile Benchmark UK" in November 2014.
P3 communications has been running similar annual mobile network benchmarkings in Germany since 2002 and in Austria and Switzerland since 2009 - the well known 'Connect Test' (see http://www.p3-group.com/de/connect-test-2013-74006.html). P3 communications is drawing on highly developed expertise in the area of mobile and fixed networks. In 2013 alone, P3 communications compiled about 40,000 measurement hours in 42 countries across five continents, with its test vehicles covering more than 500,000 miles.
The test is designed to provide a representative picture of the market. The parameters of the test design are carefully selected in order to cover a significant and representative share of the overall UK population. Measurements will be conducted across the big metropolitan areas, the connecting roads between those cities and smaller towns close to the connecting roads.
