Strong support from the corporate community for Frost & Sullivan SG's annual Frost the Trail Charity Run at MacRitchie

SINGAPORE, Aug. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Held on 23 August 2014, Frost & Sullivan Singapore's 9th edition of the 'Frost the Trail' run saw 165 teams, 95 individuals and over 750 runners gather at the MacRitchie Reservoir Park to run in support of the underprivileged.

'Frost the Trail' saw both avid and novice runners hitting the winding trails of MacRitchie in the cool morning air amidst lush greenery. Runners participated in one of two categories -- the 5 km team race as well as the 10 km individual race. In total, Frost the Trail Singapore 2014 helped raised more than SGD140k, with 100% of proceeds going directly to this year's adopted charity, Bright Hill Evergreen Home.

Bright Hill Evergreen Home is a 250 bed, accredited, 100 per cent non-profit Nursing Home for the destitute and poor. Its mission is to provide health care services to the aged regardless of their race, language or religion. More than 90 per cent of the elderly have no family, no money, and are in varied stages of dementia.

Thomas Tay, a Senior Director at Frost & Sullivan was the organising chairman of this year's event whom presented the cheque to the beneficiary. He was grateful for the support received.

"It is inspiring to see so many people here today joining hands for a good cause. Besides benefiting the underprivileged, I am delighted to see more and more people pursuing a more active lifestyle. Together with the invaluable support of our corporate partners, we hope to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate in the community through 'Frost the Trail'."

"In addition to raising funds for our adopted charity, we also hope to increase awareness about their needs so more corporations and individuals will get to know them and hopefully come forward to help so there is sustained aid for them. We hope that 'Frost the Trail' will grow from strength to strength every year so as to make a difference to these charities," he added.

The winners for Frost the Trail Singapore Corporate Challenge 2014 were as follows: For the Team 5km race category, Singapore Police Force came in first, ABBA Consulting was the 1st runner up and the 2nd runner up went to Cisco Systems. In the Individual 10km Category, the first place for the Male race went to Richard Thomas from BT Singapore and the first place for the Female race was taken by Linda Cockinis from MSD International GmbH.
