NORTH CHICAGO, Illinois, Oct. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- AbbVie (NYSE: ABBV) today announced that Science/Science Careers has included AbbVie in its annual Top Employers Survey, as surveyed by more than 5,000 respondents in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries.

The 2014 ranking of companies with the best reputations as employers was based on 5,394 survey responses from readers of Science and other survey invitees. Respondents to the survey were asked to rate companies based on 23 characteristics such as financial strength, easy adaptation to change, and a research-driven environment. Ninety-one percent of survey participants work in biotechnology, pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical companies and are from North America (70 percent), Europe (23 percent), and Asia/Pacific Rim (6 percent).
