Bad Durkheim, January 16, 2015: UNIWHEELS Germany has received the 2014
Volvo Quality Through Excellence Award ("VQE Award") in a ceremony held at
the end of 2014 in Sweden. Uniwheels has obtained this prestigious award by
achieving the maximum score in all relevant criteria.
The criteria and disciplines under consideration for the selection of this
award have been, among others: Logistics, Trust Issues, Customer Plant
Impact, Manufacturing Site Assessment, and Lean Deployment. In its letter
of award notification to UNIWHEELS, Jonny Samuelsson, Purchasing Manager at
Volvo Car Corporation commented: "Congratulations to the German UNIWHEELS
production plant whose staff has worked tirelessly to obtain the VQE
status. And I am glad to announce that UNIWHEELS' plant in Poland has been
nominated to a similar award in January 2015." Mr. Samuelsson added that
"Volvo's expectations are for all suppliers to reach this level of
competence and most importantly retain their status."
UNIWHEELS Germany plant in Werdohl delivers high-end alloy wheels to Volvo
premium Car models XC60, XC70, XC90, among others.
