Turnitin Announces Global Innovation Awards Program

- Nominations are now open to recognize how educators are promoting academic integrity and student engagement in their institutions

NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, England, June 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --Turnitin, the leader in improving how students write and learn, today announced a new Global Innovation Awards program to recognize educators and technology administrators worldwide who have demonstrated excellence in promoting academic integrity, student engagement and the innovative use of Turnitin and other educational technologies to support learning in their institutions.

"Educators have incredible stories to share about how they are using technology to engage students and improve the learning experience," said Marc Daubach, Corporate Vice President of International at Turnitin. "The goal of the Global Innovation Awards Program is to recognize educators worldwide who are helping students succeed and to share their stories so that others can learn and benefit from these best practices."

Nominations are now open for three types of awards:

  • Academic Integrity Award: Recognizing an educator who promotes academic integrity, has reduced unoriginal writing among students, and has improved students' proper citation and attribution practices with Turnitin.
  • Student Engagement Award: Recognizing an educator who provides rich feedback on student work, engages students, and improves student learning with Turnitin.
  • Global Innovator Award: Recognizing an educator or administrator who actively encourages the use of Turnitin inside or outside of their institution through training, professional development, support, sharing ideas and best practices, and otherwise championing the use of Turnitin and educational technologies across the curriculum.

Nominations are open through August 14, 2015. Awards will be announced in October 2015 when finalists and winners will be recognized on the Turnitin web site, with a chance to share their stories with educators around the world.
