CORRECTION FROM SOURCE: RTDNA President's Award and Distinguished Service Award

TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 06/01/15 -- A correction from source is being issued with respect to the RTDNA Canada release that was disseminated May 28th, 2015, at 15:16 ET. The date of the National Conference President's Reception was incorrect. The National Conference President's Reception will be held Friday, June 5th, 2015. The corrected release follows:

The President's Award is the highest honour presented by RTDNA Canada, The Association of Electronic Journalists, as it recognizes an individual, company or group who has brought distinction and excellence to the association and who has made a positive and significant impact on Canadian broadcast and digital journalism and our industry as a whole.

"As an association, we are extremely proud of our Code of Ethics which has been put to the test repeatedly this year," says RTDNA Canada President Ian Koenigsfest, "the code has been described as the standard for Canadian excellence in electronic and digital journalism." Koenigsfest adds, "... our industry has been under extraordinary pressure on the very foundations that support journalistic freedom in our country and our members have not wavered."

To this end, RTDNA Canada is presenting the 2015 President's Award to The Canadian Journalist, as they have stood firm in protecting not only the RTDNA Code of Ethics but the very essence of our journalistic integrity. The award will be presented to Jennifer McGuire, CBC; Wendy Freeman, CTV and Troy Reeb, Global.

A second award, the 2015 Distinguished Service Award, will also be presented to honour a member of the association who has played a major role in the continuing success of RTDNA Canada. This award is presented in recognition and appreciation of outstanding contribution and exemplary distinguished service rendered for the benefit and advancement of electronic journalism and RTDNA. This year's award winner is Lis Travers, Vice-President Executive Producer Canada AM.

The Canadian Journalist and Lis Travers will be presented with the RTDNA President's Award and Distinguished Service Award at the annual National Conference President's Reception on Friday, June 5th, 2015 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Toronto.

Register for the National Conference today! Space is limited.
