In the Islamic Holy month of Ramadan, Qatar's Ministry of Endowment and Islamic Affairs is hosting its second Ramadan Dialogue conference, building on the success of the Dialogue sessions that took place last year in Doha. Tapping into the deep groundswell of spiritual reflection during this sacred period, the Dialogue will gather together respected scholars in intellectual synergy to deconstruct the complex issues facing the global Muslim community through a comprehensive, balanced and sincere debate.

Spanning across three days, each one-day session will be beamed across televisions around the region on Al Jazeera Mubasher TV on 22nd, 23rd and 24th June and will be fully accessible on social media platforms.
They will cover pressing topics such as Muslim youth identity, contemporary Muslim attitudes on justice, equality, freedom and societal progress in the Muslim world and the challenges these principles encounter today, misconceptions of Islamic values, the declining influence of established religious institutions, disunity in the Islamic nation and the threat of cultural insecurity. Other themes up for debate include: Scholars and the Call to Review Fiqh, Scholars and the Reality of Ijtihad and Ifta, The Role of Scholars in Correcting the Image of Islam in the West, and Scholars and Moderation in Times of Conflict.
At a time of instability, discord and spiritual confusion, a platform for moderate and informed voices is essential. The need for an honest, frank and sincere dialogue and theological collaboration is all too evident. Eminent scholars will offer their prescriptions for change and Islamic renewal, community harmony, the revival of religious discourse, and the restoration of the image of Islam around the world by rectifying misunderstandings and galvanising pride and confidence in Islamic identity and heritage.
The discussions will be presided over by Sheikh Abdullah al-Naama, and will include leading scholars and personalities such as Sheikh Rashid al-Ghannushi, Dr. Issam al-Bashir, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Fawzan and Sheikh Dr. Abdul Wahhab Al- Turayri amongst other preachers and thinkers.
