EXASOL Becomes the First MPP Analytic Database Available in Microsoft Azure

LONDON, June 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --

Superfast access to data analytics, BI and Reporting tools via Microsoft Azure's open and flexible cloud platform gives business the ability to quickly transform information into a business asset

EXASOL's high performance in-memory analytic database is now available in Microsoft Azure, facilitating greater access to fast, flexible and cost-effective data analytics to help businesses secure actionable data insights that drive profit. Companies can now get started with analytics within a few minutes to accelerate BI and reporting projects at the touch of a button and at a price that matches their budgets.

EXASOL uses the flexibility and scalability of Azure so users can spend more time analysing their data to innovate and move their businesses forward, rather than spending time on database installation, tuning and maintenance issues, thanks to the self-tuning capabilities of its in-memory database.

Aaron Auld, CEO, EXASOL said: "Azure enables us to help more organisations than ever before to get started with data analytics, BI and reporting projects quickly and at a price that works within their budgets. Businesses are starting to acknowledge that data is not a burgeoning monster that simply needs to be tamed; it is a potential asset that holds the key to the future success of the whole enterprise. With Azure, companies of all sizes can now take advantage of EXASOL's performance-beating in-memory analytic database on a scalable, stable open source cloud platform that will grow with them as their businesses expand. This is a real game changer, especially for those that have not been able to afford access to high performance analytics before, and it will be interesting to see what new data-driven businesses are created as a result. "

Offering tailor-made and flexible analytic solutions in the cloud has not always been possible due to the lack of compute power to run high performing SQL analytical databases. Microsoft Azure bridges this gap by providing the capability to run EXASOL's in-memory database in the cloud. Azure is an industry-leading infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) offering that will help companies dramatically reduce the time needed to get on board with data analytics projects.

Venkat Gattamneni, Group Product Marketing Manager, Microsoft Azure says: "Businesses are waking up to the fact that they can run their businesses smarter by analyzing data to meet a range of challenges in the digital economy, from enhancing the customer experience and marketing campaigns, through to talent management. All this can positively impact the bottom line. We are pleased that EXASOL has made its database and expertise available to help Microsoft Azure customers achieve even more with their data."

EXASOL's in-memory database has been specifically engineered to deliver unprecedented analytic performance, scalability and ease of use to its customers. As it is an independent vendor it can deliver its superior technology with the upmost agility and get closer to its customers, delivering an outstanding experience.
