NEW YORK, June 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --Chairman of State Grid, LIU Zhenya held talks with executive director of United Nations Global Compact, Georg Kell, representative from the office of the United Nations General, Wu Hongbo, and the French ambassador to the United Nations, Francois Delattre, and reached an important consensus on jointly promoting the development of a global energy interconnection yesterday.

During the talks, LIU Zhenya outlined the progress State Grid has been making in the development of ultra-high voltage (UHV) technology and projects, smart grid and international business, as well as his strategic vision of building a global energy interconnection. Building a global energy interconnection is in line with United Nations' mission - maintaining international peace and development. They also expressed their appreciation for the sense of responsibility demonstrated by State Grid and Liu.
