Made in Germany 2015: Celebrating 50 Years of Diplomatic Relations With Israel

"Big Elephants and Little Flies"

PR Newswire

BERLIN and TEL AVIV, Israel, June 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- While celebrating 25 years of reunification within its own borders, Germany is also celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations with Israel in 2015.

A part of this celebration will be an Exhibition, Innovation Day and Investor's Conference entitled Made in Germany 2015, starting with a gala evening on Sunday June 28 in Tel Aviv attended by Israeli Economy Minister Arie Makloof Dery and German Minister of Economic Affairs Sigmar. Mr. Gabriel and Mr. Dery will be making keynote speeches at the Innovation Day opening on June29. The event will bring together business representatives and other high-ranking politicians from the two countries, both technology leaders within their respective regions eager to discover opportunities.

"Germany is an important industrial nation where many goods are produced. Israel is a highly innovative business location where individual small and highly specialized products are made," said Israeli Ambassador to Germany, His Excellency Yakov Hadas-Handelsman to Markets Germany, the triannual investment news magazine from federal inward investment promotion agency Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI).

"German companies collaborate with small companies in Israel - big elephants and little flies that benefit from each other."

GTAI will be bringing German and Israeli minds together. A workshop on June 29 will focus on markets in Germany for high-tech companies. Particular attention will be paid to company formation and incentives for Israeli companies setting up business in Germany. GTAI Managing Director Achim Hartig will participate in a panel discussion on June 30 explaining and exemplifying how businesses have succeeded in the German market.

Israel and Germany have a strong bilateral trade relationship, with a EUR 6.5bn volume. In particular there has been a tech boom in Israel which has created numerous bilateral opportunities, as Germany's own ICT sector continues to lead in Europe with the 'Made in Germany' brand now widely-recognised as one of the globe's strongest.

"For the burgeoning Israeli tech industry, Germany is the obvious stop for companies looking to expand beyond their national borders and set up a presence in Europe," said Hartig.

"With the onset of Industrie 4.0 and smart technologies in Germany, along with the flourishing mobile communications industry, Israeli tech companies have a perfect landing spot.

"Germany is an access point not only to its own market of 80 million people, but also to the entire European market via an innovative business network and infrastructure unparalleled worldwide. We are looking forward to meeting the companies and showing them the potential on offer through investing in Germany."

The two-day exhibiton starts on June 29 at 10am local time at the David Intercontinental Hotel in Tel Aviv. The GTAI workshop 'Your Business in Europe's High-Tech Market - Germany' will be on June 29 at 1.30pm local time in Room 1, with the panel discussion 'Made it in Germany - Israeli Success Stories in the German Market' at 2.30pm the following day.
