- Pinners in the U.S. can start to purchase 30 million product Pins in the coming weeks
SAN FRANCISCO, June 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --Pinterest, the boundless catalog to discover and save creative ideas, today announced the availability of buyable Pins -- the simple, secure way for Pinners to buy their favorite products on Pinterest. Buyable Pins were announced earlier this month, but in the coming weeks, Pinners in the U.S. will have access to 30 million products available for purchase from great brands like Macy's, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom, retailers powered by Demandware like Gardener's Supply Company and Michaels, and thousands of Shopify stores like Poler Outdoor Stuff and SOBU.
Buyable Pins will be available in a Pinner's home feed, on boards they love and in search results. When a Pinner sees a Pin with a blue "Buy It" button, that means it's a product for purchase. When the Pinner is ready to check out, they simply click the Buy It button and pay with either Apple Pay or a credit card. If the Pinner isn't ready to purchase, they can save the Pin for later and come back to it when they're ready.
As part of the announcement, Pinterest is also launching new shop categories including "Shop our picks," a curated selection of seasonal goods, and "Shop" for the latest buyable Pins.
Buyable Pins are available on iPhone and iPad in the U.S. only. Over time, Pinterest will make buyable Pins available to Android and desktop Pinners in the U.S. as well as international Pinners.
Buyable Pins are another way that Pinterest is helping people bring Pins to life. Pinterest also offers App Pins, recipe pins, article pins and place pins.
