- Joint programs uniquely bring together international students and researchers spanning a broad range of chemistry-related disciplines
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Aug. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), the world's authority for chemical information, announced today the 2015 SciFinder Future Leaders in Chemistry. Twenty Ph.D. students and postdoctoral researchers will have an exclusive opportunity to share their insights on the information and workflow needs of scientists around the world, and to help develop innovative strategies to ensure these needs are met in the future.
Additionally, this year CAS introduces the SciFinder Future Leaders in Chemistry Alumni program, which welcomes back past participants to continue to help shape the future of chemistry-related information. With the two programs being held concurrently, both new participants and alumni will have enriched experiences as they network with scientists from around the globe. Given the breadth of coverage in SciFinder, the program uniquely appeals to researchers with backgrounds that span a broad range of chemistry and related-scientific disciplines - more than any other program of its kind.
While in Columbus, participants get a behind-the-scenes look at how CAS scientists collect and organize the world's scientific disclosures, creating valuable content and research solutions that enable discovery and facilitate workflows. The group will also have opportunities to present their research in a poster session, take part in career and leadership development workshops and learn advanced SciFinder search techniques. At the conclusion of the program, many of the participants will travel to Boston to attend the 250th ACS National Meeting & Exposition.
