Entecavir makes it possible for patients to start with monotherapy which could be successful over a long term. As is known to all, new drug's entering into the anti-HBV drug market is bound to pose a threat to old ones, forming a new competitive landscape. Due to the lack of new antiviral drugs for Hepatitis B in a long time, the market demand is far from being satisfied.
