New Era Of Venezia FC Unveils New Logo And Brand Identity

VENICE, Italy, Sept. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --Venezia FC unveiled a new brand identity Friday ahead of the 2015-16 season, featuring a redesigned logo as the club initiates a new era of competitive football and resurgence into international competition.

Dante Scibilia and Alessandro Vasta presented the new logo during an event at the Hilton Garden Inn along with sporting director Giorgio Perinetti.

"With great pride we present the new logo of Venezia Football Club," said Vasta. "The endearing logo possesses the colors green, orange and black, embodying the entire city including its lagoon and mainland components. The mark resumes a storied history of two merged companies into one reality of Venezia FC. The second element is the lion of San Marco, the icon of our city, demonstrating an attitude of aggression instrumental to achieving highest goals of sport."

The logo contains a newly illustrated lion based off the Lion of Venice in Piazza San Marco, as well as various winged-lions throughout the city. This lion is positioned aggressively, signifying the club's approach on and off the field to restore its glory and honor.

The lion stands proudly in front of the team colors of orange, black and green, which are equally represented to signify the three regions that comprise the team's fan base. These three colors form a "V" behind the lion that is representative of both the city name and as well resembles the famous gondolas of Venice.

The new font chosen for the club is indicative of the typography seen throughout the city. As a club, it was essential to ensure the mark was symbolic of the city of Venice and is inspired by its history, architecture and culture.

The team will feature the new brand mark on their uniforms and will play its first home match on Sunday, September 20.

"We are proud of the work done prior to today," said Scibilia. "Monday will begin the new season ticket campaign with the slogan "Arancioneroverdi, Uniti Ripartiamo!" A clear reference to our history and colors, the campaign emphasizes uniting all elements necessary to achieve the goal of restoring the club as soon as possible. In partnering with commercial group Vela Spa, we have expanded ticketing outlets to allow fans to purchase tickets for home games in many locations throughout the city."
