LONDON, September 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --

Tonight sees the great and the good descend on the Mayfair Home of British luxury brand dunhill London for the film premiere of Orchids of Baños to highlight micro orchids, some of the tiniest and rarest plant species on Earth and the habitat on which they rely. World Land Trust patron Sir David Attenborough will be in attendance alongside other supporters to the cause such as Brooklyn Beckham, Henry Cavill, David Gandy, Tallulah Harlech, Lily Cole, Nick Grimshaw and design duo Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos and dunhill CEO, Fabrizio Cardinali.

The film showcases the work of World Land Trust and its conservation partner in Ecuador, Fundación EcoMinga, led by the visionary Lou Jost, a brilliant botanist, conservationist and artist. The film follows Lou's work in the mountains, where he has discovered 10 orchid species new to science and endemic to the cloud forests.

The orchids at the heart of the film are found high in the Andean cloud forests of central Ecuador, which is home to an ever growing list of threatened and endemic plant species that exist nowhere else on Earth. The film captures the passion of the people wanting to protect the cloud forests, demonstrating why the forests are special from an evolutionary perspective and illustrating the beauty of these tiny orchids.

Sir David, a Patron of World Land Trust, explains: "The natural world today, in spite of all of the disasters and catastrophes that afflict it, is still full of great wonders. World Land Trust aims to find those wonders and help the local people own the land in which those wonders are found."

Tonight, WLT will announce a special opportunity to acquire the naming rights to 10 newly discovered orchids. Funds raised from the orchid naming will fund vital work to conserve orchid habitat in Ecuador. It is expected each orchid naming will raise in the region of £10,000 to £15,000.
