Sa Dingding, no stranger to these shores, has previously won a prestigious BBC World Music Award and was the winner of the Best Popular Music Record at the China Gold Record Awards.
In a unique East meets West performance of a new composition Joy, co-written with Laura Karpman, the four time Emmy award winning composer, Sa Dingding married her ethereal voice, Chinese instruments and rhythms with Western choral music in a multi-cultural recital featuring Yunnan dancers.
In addition to releasing her fifth album, Dingding, supported by Universal Music Group, has embarked on a journey to develop a musical for global audiences that will showcase the beauty of Chinese music and culture, while drawing Western concepts and compositions into its heart.

Produced by Karsh Kale (Sting, Norah Jones, Anoushka Shankar), the album was written and recorded in Beijing and Mumbai, blending Dingding's signature Chinese electronic sound with Indian flavours. Guest musicians include Naveen Kumar - Indian Flautist (AR Rahmen, John McLaughlin), Benny Dayal - Keralan singer/rapper and Karsh himself on tabla.
