The Simple Ways UK Drivers Can Add Up to £100 on the Sale of Their Car

CANNOCK, England, October 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --

WeWantAnyCar.com's latest promotion highlights how drivers are missing out

Motoring industry expert WeWantAnyCar.com is celebrating the launch of its new promotion by letting consumers into a trade secret. It pays to keep your car looking good because you can increase its value by up to £100 by making sure it's clean, tidy and up to date with additional upgrades like replacing interior lights, new car mats or a steering wheel cover.

The online car buying giant wanted to share these simple tricks of the trade with all its potential customers after research[1] revealed; over a fifth of UK drivers (28%) admitting to only washing their car once a year, 83% stating they hadn't upgraded their car since they first purchased it and 66% thinking upgrades don't ultimately impact on the end value.

With this in mind, WeWantAnyCar.com's two week promotion running from the 30th October until 14th November will treat every fifth customer with an extra £100 on the sale of their car just for using WeWantAnyCar.com, whether the car is caked in mud or features an old school radio and cassette tape player!

WeWantAnyCar.com also understands that so many of us put the money from one car sale into the piggy bank for our next car purchase, so has asked UK drivers if they were the lucky recipient of an extra £100 what would they do to keep their next car in tip top shape.

Nearly a fifth (19%) would choose to spend the extra cash sprucing up their new car and having it fully cleaned or valeted. Most popular however, highlighting we really are a nation of careful and sensible car owners were 27% of those surveyed choosing to put the cash towards any necessary repairs, the car's next service or MOT.

WeWantAnyCar.com also found that surprisingly only 11% would choose to spend £100 cash on filling up the tank, with 15% choosing to splash the cash on in-car technology including adding a new stereo or hands free Bluetooth. Sadly for some, less than 1% would choose to buy a pair of fluffy dice to adorn their rear view mirror - suggesting the original flash car accessory is no longer trend setting but a motor fashion faux pas.

Glenn Sturley, Managing Director at WeWantAnyCar.com states, "Keeping your car clean, serviced and adding any upgrades or improvements for the duration of your ownership will always help you get the best value when you decide to sell. They might seem small things to do but looking at the results of our survey, they show the general public aren't optimising on these easy steps and might be missing out on that extra cash. WeWantAnyCar.com always offers its customers advice on how to get the best deal when selling, and if you follow its useful tips and hints you will be sure to walk away happy."

Top 5 ways UK drivers would spend an extra £100 on their car

  1. Repairs/Services/MOT
  2. Valeting
  3. In-car technology
  4. (Joint) Fuel and Internal specifications
  5. Modifications/aesthetics
