DUBAI, United Arab Emirates and ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, July 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) is joining the HIMSS Middle East UAE eHealth Week 2016 in Dubai as exclusive Knowledge Partner.
AHIMA will present a plenary session on Healthcare Transformation and Information Management Demands and host two workshops in Dubai at Mohammed Bin Rashid Academic Medical Center, Dubai Healthcare City from 31 October to 1 November.
AHIMA's Board President / Chair Melissa M. Martin, RHIA, CCS, CHTS-IM, and Board President/Chair-elect Ann F. Chenoweth, MBA, RHIA, FAHIMA, will present the plenary session, highlighting the rapidly evolving roles needed to meet the demands on healthcare providers across the globe to improve the quality and safety of care, improve the health of their populations, and reduce costs. Ever-present is the need to ensure that data and information are available and can be trusted for care, exchange, payment, and research. All of these challenges are demanding skilled staff and use of best practices in every aspect of information capture, use, processing, exchange, analysis, protection, retention and disposition. The session will also address how workforce skills and competencies can be raised through training and certifications.
AHIMA's two flagship certification exam preparation workshops will assist attendees in preparing for two of its worldwide recognized certifications-Certified Coding Specialist (CCS®) and the Certified Healthcare Data Analyst (CHDA®). AHIMA's trainers are Angie Comfort, RHIA, CDIP, CCS, Senior Director, Clinical Coding, and Melanie Endicott, MBA/HCM, RHIA, CDIP, CCS, CCS-P, FAHIMA, Senior Director, Clinical Documentation Improvement.
Each workshop is a two-day intensive preparation course and attendees will receive the AHIMA CEU credits upon completion and a free AHIMA membership for one year.
