SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - September 26, 2016) - The D10 Decathlon will make its San Francisco debut on Saturday, October 15th, at San Francisco State University to benefit pediatric cancer research at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital.
The Bay Area's top "executive athletes" ages 22-67 will take the playing field in a ten-event athletic competition similar to the NFL Combine with events including: 400 meter run, football throw, pull-ups, 40 yard dash, dips, 500 meter row, vertical jump, bench press, and 800 meter run.
Top competitors include: 2011 New York Decathlon Champion Justin Nunez of TPG Capital, former 2-sport star at Stanford University Hannah Farr also of TPG Capital, former Stanford and NFL linebacker David Bergeron of T3 Advisors, and Andreesen Horowitz's Dalton Turay who was a standout football player at UC-Davis.
Athletes representing Uber, Google, Salesforce, Stripe, Personal Capital, Beepi, Dropbox, BlackRock and more will compete for individual, team, and fundraising titles.
Since 2009, The D10's community representing more than 500 tech, energy, finance, and professional services firms has raised more than $7.0 million for pediatric cancer research.
The D10's national tour includes its flagship event in New York City which is broadcast on NBC Sports Network, as well as Boston, Chicago, and Houston.
The event kicks off at 10:00am and concludes at 2:30pm. Spectators enjoy free admission, a kids play area, and access to concessions and complimentary souvenirs.
