WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Charles Schwab (SCHW) revealed earnings for its third quarter that climbed compared to the same period last year.
The company said its bottom line advanced to $503 million, or $0.35 per share. This was higher than $376 million, or $0.28 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.33 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 19.4% to $1.91 billion. This was up from $1.60 billion last year.
