United States Biopsy Forceps, Polypectomy Snares and Fine Aspiration Needles Market Report 2016-2017 - Biopsy Forceps Accounted for 51.1% of Market Share - Research and Markets

DUBLIN, November 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

Research and Markets has announced the addition of the "US Market Report for Biopsy Forceps, Polypectomy Snares and Fine Aspiration Needles 2017 - MedCore" report to their offering.

The value of the total U.S. market for forceps, snares and EUS needles increased in 2016. The growth is expected to persist throughout the forecasted period and will be driven by increases in unit sales and countered by a slight decrease in the ASP.

All three segments of this market exhibit positive unit sales trend as well as stable to slightly decreasing ASPs. The major contributor to the unit growth in this market is biopsy forceps segment due to the high volume and a strong growth profile of this product. The fastest growing segment is EUS needles due to a combination of a relatively small absolute value of the number of procedures as well a growing popularity of the underlying procedure: endoscopic ultrasound.

The largest segment in the market was the biopsy forceps segment. This segment represented approximately 51.1% of the total market in 2016. The relatively large size of this segment is mainly due to the wider range of applications of the forceps when compared to snares and needles. All the devices discussed in this report are mostly single-use and therefore correspond one-to-one with the underlying procedure. The only exception is the forceps segment, where a small portion of the market is related to reusable devices.
