Kroll Bond Rating Agency (KBRA) has announced the appointment of Joanna Drobnik, CFA (known as Asia) to the role of Director, European Financial Institutions to the Dublin, Ireland office.
Mrs Drobnik joins KBRA's team after two years with Fitch Ratings in London, where she worked as a Director within the Financial Institutions group and was responsible for ratings of the UK and Irish banks. Prior to joining Fitch, Mrs Drobnik worked for ten years at Allied Irish Banks plc in Dublin, which she joined as a graduate. During her years in the bank she worked in credit risk management roles covering banks, non-bank financial institutions and sovereign entities across Europe, North America, and the Middle East.
Mrs Drobnik is a member of the Charter Financial Analyst Institute and holds an MSc in Investment and Corporate Financial Strategy from the Poznan University of Economics and Business. She speaks English, Polish, and Greek.
"We hope to leverage our market leading position in the small and medium sized sectors in the U.S. where we have rated over 140 bank and non-bank financial institutions, partly due to our greater focus on financial fundamentals and management rather than size. Given the changes in the financials sector, specifically relating to MREL, we feel this is an ideal time to build out our business in Europe," said Mauricio Noé, Head of Europe at KBRA.
