Excitech, the UK leader in technology and services for the construction sector, today announced it has acquired Autodesk reseller and mechanical design specialists Micro Concepts.
The acquisition, which increases Excitech's customer base by over 550 customers, strengthens its position in the manufacturing and engineering industries, increasing its technical resources and broadening its offering for these customers.
Micro Concepts Ltd was formed in 1989 by a team of experienced engineering consultants to provide the latest computer-aided solutions to the mechanical design industries.
Peter Hurst, Managing Director explained "As the Autodesk reseller market has become increasingly competitive, with smaller resellers like ourselves coming under continued margin pressures, we became concerned that longer term we wouldn't be able to continue to deliver the specialised resources and solutions that our customers across the UK need. Founded in 1985, Excitech employs over 130 people, generating revenues in excess of £31m. Based in Enfield (North London), with additional training facilities in London and Leeds, they were one of the first partners of Autodesk in the UK and are an Autodesk Authorised Training Centre (ATC).
