International Water-Guard Industries Inc. is Awarded a Transport Canada STC for Their Intelligent Water Quantity Pre-Select "Fuel Saver" System

SURREY, BC / ACCESSWIRE / September 17, 2018 / International Water-Guard Industries Inc. (IWG) reported today that it has received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from Transport Canada for the installation of a new Intelligent Water Quantity Pre-Select System for the Boeing 737-600/700/800 family of aircraft.

This System enables airline flight crews to accurately control the amount of water loaded into the aircraft, in 5% increments, to reduce unnecessary weight and therefore save fuel. It also records the amount of water used on each flight, informing airlines' future level-setting by city pairings with corresponding data. An additional benefit of this patent-pending Pre-Select System is that it requires no changes to operations for the ground crew, and minimal, intuitive training for flight crews.

"With increasing global demand for air travel and escalating jet fuel prices that account for a significant portion of airlines' operating expenses, this system is a logical solution for any airline focused on reducing unnecessary weight to reduce fuel-burn" said Steven Bis, President of International Water-Guard Industries Inc.

The Pre-Select System, along with IWG's Ultraviolet Water Disinfection Upload System, is installed on Air Transat's 737-800.

"Air Transat is excited to be implementing IWG's Pre-Select System. It will help us optimize potable water levels, thus improving customer service while reducing fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions," said Keith Lawless, Senior Director, Business Sustainability and Improvement at Air Transat; in addition, "Air Transat will be working with IWG to pursue this system on our Airbus A321 fleet."

This system has been designed with operational simplicity and safety as the core components. No need to rely on extensive and expensive training, service bulletins, or lengthy procedures for fill crews around the world to put this system into practice.

The Pre-Select System is a game-changer as it simply and accurately solves the issue of carrying too much weight at the touch of a button, thus reducing unnecessary fuel-burn.

With interest already being expressed by OEMs, look for this system to be converted to additional aircraft types in the future.
