Novak. She will begin her role at the West Branch and Troy locations as an interventional pain specialist for the practice's new and established patients.
Dr. Melanie Novak has almost three decades of comprehensive pain management experience. She is board-certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine. Her three specialty areas include acute, chronic and cancer pain. Common treatment options include epidural steroid injections, cervical and lumbar nerve block injections, various joint injections and rhizotomies.
Dr. Novak is well versed in managing chronic pain using different types of injection treatments and medications, as well as physical and behavior therapy. She comes to Jagannathan Neurosurgery from the PCA Pain Care Center in Battle Creek, Michigan, affiliated with Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.

Dr. Novak earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Marquette University and completed her medical education and training at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. Post-graduation, she completed her residency in anesthesiology at Medical College of Georgia, then completed a pain management fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pain Medicine and the American Board of Anesthesiology.
