Tobra Medical Inc.: Tobra Medical to Exhibit Recently Launched Tobra Bone Basket and Tobra Specimen Basket at Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS 2018)

WAKE FOREST, NC / ACCESSWIRE / October 5, 2018 / Tobra Medical Inc., a specialty medical device company focused on autograft bone and specimen collection, will feature its recently released and patented Tobra Bone Basket and Tobra Specimen Basket next week at Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) in Exhibit Booth #1843. The Tobra Bone Basket is bone collection made easy with a continuous filtration, mesh basket system that maximizes collection of autograft bone during high speed bone drilling, for use as a bone graft. The Tobra Specimen Basket is a clean, safe, continuous, and efficient system used to collect tumor specimen in conjunction with an ultrasonic aspirator or in-line suction for pituitary tumors as a means for collection and transport to pathology.

Tobra Bone Basket & Tobra Specimen Basket

"The Tobra Bone Basket is being adopted by spine surgeons much faster than we projected due to the ease of use, uninterrupted surgery with continuous filtration, the high yield of bone captured with the mesh basket, and quality of the yield due to Tobra's plunger that eliminates excess fluid from the captured bone giving the surgeon an output with great handling characteristics," said Tobra Medical Founder and President Brad Collins. "Healthcare facilities have quickly recognized the opportunity for the Tobra Bone Basket's substantial financial savings by reducing or eliminating costly allograft bone substitutes."

The Tobra Specimen Basket meets an unmet need for collecting tumor specimen safely and efficiently. "Many neurosurgeons have expressed great interest in utilizing the Tobra Specimen Basket for collection of pituitary tumor specimen in endoscopic surgery as a way to collect more efficiently through in-line suction, as opposed to manually collecting tumor with the movement of instruments in and out of the surgical site," said Brad Collins. "Surgical staff and surgeons also prefer the Tobra Specimen Basket for collection with ultrasonic aspirators as a means of decreased handling of tumor specimen and blood."
