Unveils Revolutionary In-Vehicle Charging Concept to Eliminate Consumer Range Anxiety
DETROIT, MI / ACCESSWIRE / September 14, 2022 / Plug Zen, a Black-owned EV charging startup headquartered in Detroit, today announced that is has formed a manufacturing partnership with Detroit Manufacturing Systems and expects to begin production of its level-two charging station in early 2023. Plug Zen founder and CEO Q Johnson followed those announcements with the dramatic unveiling of a game-changing in-vehicle charging concept designed to eliminate range anxiety. The company's announcements and concept-reveal happened at the 2022 North American International Auto Show during a news conference.

The company's EV EVerywhere charging concept unveiled today is slated for production in late 2023 and will be the first to deliver an original-equipment, in-vehicle EV charger. Mr. Johnson said he'll be working closely with the DMS team to fine-tune the product and evolve from concept to OE program in the next year.

Plug Zen will be taking orders at the show for its level-two vehicle charging station hubs, Plug Zen EV All, which can be expanded by adding up to four additional sub-stations, each with two charging ports to accommodate as many as 10 vehicles simultaneously. No other charging platform has this capability. Mr. Johnson expects multi-housing property owners to be among his first customers and 2023 production to be some 50,000 units.
