SAN FRANCISCO (AFX) -- Intel Corp. Chief Executive Paul Otellini said late Wednesday he has started a 'wholesale' review of the chipmaker's operations. 'We are undertaking a comprehensive analysis of our company with the goal of significantly increasing our overall efficiency in 2007 and beyond,' he said in a conference call. When pressed about more specifics, Otellini said it was premature to speculate what actions may result from the analysis as Intel seeks to bounce back from its recent woes. After the stock market closed Wednesday, the company said its net income fell 38% hurt by weaker demand for its computer chips as it faces stiffer competition and slowing PC sales growth.
