FRANKFURT (AFX) - Renault SA and Nissan Motor Co Ltd chief executive Carlos Ghosn told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung his company has no intention of attempting to acquire General Motors Corp if the US automaker opts not to form a partnership with his companies.
'If only one partner wants to cooperate, then nothing is going to develop,' Ghosn told the newspaper.
'And you can be certain that we will not undertake any hostile action against GM.'
The companies are currently examining a possible global alliance. They have agreed to make a final decision on the matter by October 15. alfred.kueppers@afxnews.com amk/cmr COPYRIGHT Copyright AFX News Limited 2005. All rights reserved.
