BEIJING (AFX) - North Korean Premier Pak Pong-ju will visit China next week to discuss the standoff over his country's nuclear weapons program, China announced.
"During his visit, he will be received by Chinese leaders to exchange views on bilateral issues of common interest," foreign ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao said.
"The nuclear question on the Korean peninsula is a question which has caused much concern to everyone."
Pak will arrive on March 22, a day after US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice leaves Beijing after talks which are expected to focus on North Korea.
He is scheduled to depart on March 27 following discussions with his counterpart Wen Jiabao.
