SAN FRANCISCO (AFX) -- Danaher Corp. said after the closing bell on Friday it has settled litigation between its subsidiary, Accu-Sort Inc., and Federal Express Corp. for an amount which the company believes is not material to its position. The litigation was jointly dismissed with prejudice today. In connection with the settlement, Danaher will take a per-share charge of 3 cents in 2005, the industrial technology products maker said. The charge is required to be reflected in the company's results of operations for the year ended Dec. 31, 2005. As a result, in its 2005 form 10-K, Danaher will report net earnings of $897.8 million, or $2.76 a share, compared with net earnings of $907.7 million, or $2.79 a share, which the company reported on Jan 26.
