SAN FRANCISCO (AFX) -- Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. and Sonus Networks Inc. picked up steam in after-hours trading Monday after posting their quarterly results.
The Nasdaq-100 After Hours Indicator, which tracks the evening trades of the index's leading shares, lost 0.18 points to 1,653.61.
Chipotle Mexican Grill rose 4.1% to $45.20. The McDonald's Corp. spinoff swung to a fourth-quarter profit of $4.3 million, or 16 cents a share. Last year, it lost $3.7 million or 14 cents a share.
Revenue jumped 36% to $173.3 million, while sales at Chipotle restaurants open longer than a year rose 14%. On average, analysts reporting to Thomson First Call were looking for earnings of 11 cents a share on sales of $168.5 million
Sonus was the leading volume mover on Instinet, up 1.8% to $5.56. The company reported a fourth-quarter profit of $5 million, or 2 cents a share, on revenue of $57.2 million. Last year, the maker of voice over Internet protocol technology earned $6.3 million or 2 cents a share, on $45.1 million in revenue.
NGAS Resources dropped 5.7% to $8.08. The natural-gas developer said that it earned of $564,000, or 3 cents a share, in the fourth quarter, down from $619,000 or 4 cents a share last year. Revenue came in at $15.7 million, down from $15.73 million a year ago. Analysts had expected NGAS post revenue of $20 million.
Shares of International Displayworks picked up 3.4% to $6.07 after it reported fiscal first-quarter earnings of $1.4 million, or 4 cents a share, up from $1 million or 3 cents a share last year. Sales rose to $23.5 million from $18.2 million.
